Essential Vitamins for Treatment of Skin Pigmentation

The pigment in the skin is important for protecting the skin from sun rays. The pigment levels vary among individuals. They can form light or darker discolorations on parts of the skin where the pigment clusters or disperses from. The treatment for discolorations and maintenance of overall pigmentation health can be done by getting steady supply of certain vitamins.

Vitamin C is responsible for inhibiting the production of melanin which has the ability to lower the damaging effects of the sun to the dermis. Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant and helps to brighten the skin's tint.

Vitamin B12 helps to regulate the skin pigmentation production and prevents hyperpigmentation which causes darkening of skin on certain parts of the body. It prevents skin from ruining the complexion. Overexposure to sun may also cause several diseases. Vitamin A has several functions that benefits for the treatment of the skin. It has the ability to treat blotchy skin which results from slight discolorations in the skin pigment.

As you get older different skin pigmentation problems may appear and this may be due to damage in the structure of the skin. The damage is caused in different ways such as scratching your skin, wrong use of chemical peelers or excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays.
