How to handle your rabbit?

People keeping rabbits as pets in their homes should know the basic information about how to handle your rabbit because rabbits are physically delicate and fragile, and require specialized veterinary care. If you fail to pick the rabbit, the rabbit becomes panicked and can kick you forcefully with their hind legs and scratch with their claws, or bite. So, it is important to handle your rabbit carefully.

Below are some useful tips while handling the rabbits:
  • First gently rub your hand on the head of your rabbit and then pick up your rabbit by supporting his forelegs with one hand and his hind legs with the other hand otherwise it can result in spinal injuries to the rabbit.
  • Rabbits are very sensitive in nature so don't pick up your rabbit by its ears because this can cause very serious injury.
  • You can keep your rabbits coat in good condition by brushing your rabbits hair regularly with a soft brush to remove excess hair. And also take your rabbit to the veterinarian to clip the rabbit’s nails.
  • Never try to keep your rabbits with other animals in your home. This will result injuries to your rabbit. You should always keep an eye on the pet so that you can know the behavior of your rabbit.
  • Immediately contact your veterinarian who is expert in treating rabbits whenever your rabbit stops eating for a long time or has watery discharge.
  • Don't hold your rabbit for too long as the rabbits don't want to be touched by the big creatures and they do not feel comfortable.
This way, if you handle your rabbit, it will become your friend and be acquainted with you.
